When you head to Safeco Field this year to watch the Seattle Mariners I sure hope you come hungry and thirsty, because the Mariners, Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Centerplate and several local restaurants and breweries have teamed up to make your dining experience for the 2018 season something to remember.
At yesterday’s preview event, I had the opportunity to sample many of the new food and drink offerings you’ll find waiting for you at the ball park this season. You’ll have to come try them all for yourself, perhaps at the home opener next Thursday, March 29th as you cheer on the Mariners against the Cleveland Indians.
Ethan Stowell’s Bramling Cross restaurant is betting you’ll still have some energy and a hearty appetite left over after the end of Seattle Beer Week (SBW) on May 14th. That’s because just one day after SBW 2017 wraps up, on Monday, May 15th, they’ll be hosting a beer feast featuring beers from Fremont Brewing Company.
This evening of gastronomic delights, which Bramling Cross has described as a family-style feast, will feature several tasty selections from Chef Travis Post, all expertly paired with six different beers from Fremont Brewing Company.
Yesterday afternoon I attended this year’s food and drink preview for the 2016 Seattle Mariners‘ Season at Safeco Field, courtesy of the Seattle Mariners, Centerplate and Ethan Stowell Restaurants. Over the past few years, watching baseball at the Safe has become synonymous with enjoying delicious food and what is probably the best beer selection found in any major league ball park in the nation. I have for you the complete list of beers available this year (including the first ever Sour beer to be served in any major league ball park), and where you’ll be able to find them around the stadium.
I’ll also fill you in on this year’s food offerings, which did not disappoint. Whether you’re hungry for sandwiches, sausages, wings or more, you’ll find something delicious to enjoy while cheering on the M’s this season. My favorite was probably the Porchetta sandwich. I’ll go over each food item for you to whet your appetite.
Last April, I told you about a preview event at Safeco Field where I, along with several other members of the local media, were invited to sample some of the food and drink set to be offered for the 2014 Seattle Mariners baseball season. It was quite a spread, with delicious food including: Dungeness crab rolls, ‘Dirty’ Tots, Manny’s Beer Battered Fish And Chips, and several other delicious offerings. Plus, of course, one of the best beer selections offered at any major league baseball stadium.
I’ve been invited back again this year to check out some new offerings for this year’s menu, including: Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs, the Seattle Burger, Edgar’s Tacos and more. Plus the addition this year of Pike Brewing Company beers on tap and Peet’s Coffee.
