The iconic Pike Brewing Company, situated near the waterfront in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market, has been brewing now for more than 30 years. Founders Charles and Rose Ann Finkel are well known and well loved in the local craft beer scene, and with good reason. Their dedication and perseverance helped elevate craft beer from a small ‘hobby’ for enthusiasts to a nationwide and indeed Worldwide powerhouse of, literally, thousands of small, independent breweries most of which, in my opinion, put out beers that put most mass-produced American lagers and Ales to shame.
Pike is also a big supporter of the local restaurant industry as well as local cideries, wineries and distilleries. One way they showcase their support for these ‘sister’ industries is their annual Chocofest, where you can find some of the very best our local producers offer and, of course, delicious Pike Brewing Company beers. Chocofest isn’t until early February of 2020, but tickets are on sale now and this event usually sells out, so don’t delay.
Are you still searching for the perfect Christmas gift for that special someone? How about Valentine’s Day? Have you thought about that yet? Yeah, I know. It’s still two months away but hear me out. What if you could kill 2 birds with one stone? Does your significant other enjoy craft beer? How about wine? How about spirits? How about small bites from top local restaurants? How about chocolate!? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then tickets to Pike Brewing Company‘s annual Chocofest might be just the gift you’ve been searching for.
Chcofest seems to grow bigger each year and is Pike’s most popular annual event. That’s why, in order to accommodate the more than 900 expected attendees, this year’s Chocofest will encompass all three levels of Pike including the brewery, the Pike Pub and Tankard & Tun.
Do you like beer? How about wine? Spirits and cocktails? How about chocolate and other sweets? Baked goods and tasty, savory bites from local restaurants? Am I making you hungry and thirsty yet? Well then you’d better hurry up and get your tickets for this year’s Chocofest at Pike Brewing Company.
An event you won’t soon forget, Chocofest is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with that special someone, or to just enjoy an evening out where you can sample great food and drinks from several local suppliers. It all takes place on Sunday, February 11th at Pike Brewing Company.
Last night was the 5th Annual Chocofest down at Pike Brewing Company. This annual Valentines-themed event is a gastronomic delight, featuring brewers, chocolatiers, vintners, cheese makers, bakers, restaurants and more, each sharing some of their best. By the time the doors opened, the event was sold out.
We spent the evening sampling different foods and beverages from many of the vendors in attendance. For the most part, everything was pretty good, but there were a few standouts – as well as one or two disappointments. A few of the highlights of the evening for my wife, Lynn, and I included:
2013 is here. The holidays are behind us, and Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. That means Love is in the air, but it also means that Pike Brewing Company‘s annual Chocofest is fast approaching.
Each year since 2009, Pike Brewing has hosted this wonderful event, which features dozens of chocolate, wine, spirits, cider and mead vendors pairing their libations with chocolatiers, restaurateurs, bakers, and cheese-makers, culminating in an evening of love-inspired gastronomic delights. Or, as Pike puts it: “a virtual orgy for food and drink lovers!” All proceeds from Chocofest 2013 will benefit the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance – which helps protect the waters of Puget Sound both now and for future generations.
