March is here. That’s a big deal to college basketball fans. Not that I’m a big college hoops fan, but you’d have to be in a coma to now know what March Madness is. Traditionally, however, March doesn’t mean much of anything special to craft beer drinkers.
Machine House Brewery wants to change that and give craft beer drinkers a different reason to be excited for March. Back again this year is their annual March Mildness event, taking place at a number of craft beer locations around the Sound. Drink up plenty of Machine House’s Dark Mild and win prizes.
With so many breweries in Seattle, it seems like there’s always an anniversary celebration just around the corner (not that I’m complaining or anything!). Over the past few months I’ve told you about anniversary celebrations from such local breweries as Lucky Envelope, Hellbent, Stoup and Naked City and there’s still more anniversary celebrations to come before the year is out.
Now Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) is getting ready to celebrate a major milestone. Coming up on Saturday, November 4th, they’ll be celebrating their 10th Anniversary. Rather than celebrating for just one day, however, Two Beers has nearly an entire week of events lined up, culminating with the Grand Celebration on the 4th.
If you’ve been following me on Facebook, then you know that nearly every week I’ve been giving you a heads up about special Cask Alerts from Black Raven Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor). Each week, Black Raven has been featuring a different beer on Cask with special additions.
Last weeks’ Cask, for example, was ‘Citrus-thingy with Simcoe hops and conditioned with Tasmanian pepper berries, grains of paradise and Indian coriander’. The week before that it was ‘Second Sight Scotch Ale with Cedar and Sage’.
Starting next Wednesday February 3rd, however, Black Raven Brewing has decided that they’re going to dial things back a bit and put on just one special Cask each month instead of doing one ever week.
In an article posted here last week, I told you about some of the new food and drink choices coming to Safeco Field for the 2014 Seattle Mariners season, including choices from: Swingin’ Wings, Sound Seafood, Hot Cakes Deserts and Georgetown Brewing. This past Friday, April 4th, I was invited to a preview event at the Safe to sample some of these new food and drink options. I’d like to thank the Seattle Mariners and Centerplate for the invitation and the opportunity to get a little taste of what the fans can expect to find when they attend a Mariner’s game this season.
