Beardslee Public House Releases Cherry Sour Ale

20151006_161049a

Last October, I took you inside Beardslee Public House (part of the John Howie Restaurant Group) for a closer look at Bothell’s newest gastropub.  It was an impressive evening of pairings, showing off some of Beardslee’s inspired in-house menu creations and brewed in house beers.

Between Howie’s track record (John Howie Steak Restaurant(Bellevue), Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar (Bellevue), Wildwood Spirits Co. (Bothell) andSPORT Restaurant and Bar (Seattle)) and brewmaster Drew Cluley’s more than 20 years of professional brewing experience, Beardslee puts out an impressive array of food and craft beer options.

Now, Beardslee is ready to release their latest craft beer creation from Drew Cluley and assistant brewer Paige Zahnle: Cherry Sour Ale, brewed with fresh, organic Washington Bing cherries.

New Beers From Beardslee Public House

20151006_161049a

Last October I told you about Beardslee Public House, the new restaurant and brewery from the John Howie Restaurant Group.  Since their opening, they have earned rave reviews for their beers thanks in no small part to Head Brewer Drew Cluley and assistant brewer (and Certified Cicerone), Paige Zahnle.

Beardslee opened their doors with an impressive 12 beers on tap right from the get go and now, less than a year old, they’re announcing even more new beers going on tap as well as their first ever bottled beers.

A Closer Look Inside Beardslee Public House

When I first heard that Drew Cluley was leaving his position as Head Brewer for Big Time Brewery & Alehouse, I was a bit disappointed.  I’ve been drinking somewhat regularly at Big Time for years, which is easy since I only work a few blocks away.  I enjoy a number of their beers, but also know they have been through many great brewers in their time including Dick Cantwell (most recently with Elysian Brewing Company), Bill Jenkins (now with RAM Restaurant & Brewery in Northgate), and Kevin Forhan (now with Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery).  Drew has been through his share of breweries as well.  In addition to Beardslee and Big Time, he’s also brewed at Pyramid Brewing Company and Pike Brewing Company.

When I heard the reason Drew was leaving Big Time was to be a part of a new venture called Beardslee Public House, however, I was excited.  Drew brings over 20 years of professional brewing experience to this new venture from the John Howie Restaurant Group.  You may know a few of their other establishments, including: John Howie Steak Restaurant (Bellevue), Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar (Bellevue), Wildwood Spirits Co. (Bothell) and SPORT Restaurant and Bar (Seattle).  He even operates a restaurant on the Microsoft Campus known as In.gredients.
