Spend New Year’s With Worthy Brewing

Do you know how you’re planning to spend New Year’s Eve this year?  I usually spend mine at home with some craft beers from my cellar, my family and my dogs – who really don’t like the fireworks we always seem to get in our neighborhood.  If you’re fortunate to not have anxiety-riddled doggies to babysit or if you haven’t made plans yet and are looking for some ideas (and if you’ll be down in Bend, OR), Worthy Brewing Company has an event you might be interested in.

On New Year’s Eve this year, Worthy Brewing is hosting a 5-course beer (or wine) pairing dinner, featuring a cocktail hour before dinner, live music throughout the whole evening, dancing after dinner and a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight.

The Ballard Brewed Winter Beer Festival Is Coming Up

I know it’s only Fall.  Winter doesn’t officially arrive until late December, but craft beer has always been a bit ahead of the curve (Pumpkin beers showing up in early August, anyone?)  Being a big fan of Winter beers though, I certainly don’t mind when they start arriving a bit early.

Apparently, nether do many of the breweries in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.  Because, coming up this coming Saturday, November 3rd is the Ballard Brewed Winter Beer Festival to Benefit Bellwether Housing.  Drink Winter beers from eleven different Ballard breweries and do your part to help Bellwether Housing – creating affordable housing in Seattle.

Celebrate Halloween At Hellbent’s Beer N Bones Blacklight Bash for Puerto Rico

Don’t you just hate it when Halloween falls on a Wednesday?  I mean, do you celebrate the weekend before or the weekend after?  Some might say both.  Some might say celebrate on the day anyway, even if it’s a Wednesday.  Personally, I like the idea of celebrating the weekend before and the weekend after.

If you’re planning on celebrating Halloween this year on the weekend before the 31st, then Hellbent Brewing Company has an event you might want to check out.  On Saturday, October 27th, they’ll be hosting a Beer N Bones Backlight Bash with a portion of the proceeds from sales of their Funky Red Patina going to benefit Solarize Puerto Rico.  They’ll also be releasing their 2018 Warm Fuzzies Winter Ale.

Counterbalance Brewing Announces Samsparilla Stout

People sometimes get confused about Counterbalance Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor).  Based on their name, many people assume they’re located on Queen Anne hill.  That’s where you’ll find the counterbalance, one of the steepest slopes in all of Seattle, and definitely the tallest.  It increases in elevation by 450 feet in a span of just eight blocks.

Despite their name, however, Counterbalance Brewing is located in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, right next door to Sound Homebrew supply (503 S Michigan St, Suite B).  Founders Jeff Howell and Frank Lawrence selected the name because they both grew up on Queen Anne hill.
