Lima Loca Returns For The Summer From Two Beers Brewing

Summer is almost here. It may not officially start until June 21st, but things are warming up out there and we’re starting to see other signs of Summer’s return as well. For example, the return of Lima Loca Mexican Lager from Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor).

This Summer-inspired brew returns this year as pat of Two Beers’ new Pub Series and even has a brand new look.  It will launch next Tuesday the 2nd with a Taco Tuesday release party from 3 pm  – 9 pm at The Woods taproom (the shared taproom for Two Beers Brewing Company and Seattle Cider Company), and will even be available in three limited-edition infusions: Raspberry Lima, Agave Rosemary Lima Shandy and Coconut Lima.

Hellbent Brewing Presents Roquefort One A Cheese Wars Story

Brace yourself.  This article gets pretty cheesy.  A long time ago, while eating at a food truck not so far away… Hellbent Brewing Company thought, “What the Hell. Let’s pit two food trucks against each other, give it all a Star Wars Rogue One kind of theme and let’s make it a benefit for Seattle Children’s Hospital.”

It is a period of cheesy war. Rebel food trucks striking from hidden kitchens are seeking victory against the evil lactic empire and the stakes are high.  They’ll need help from the Rebel Legion and the 501st Legion (who will be in attendance wearing costumes from the actual movies) if they are to be victorious.  Your little Wookiees are welcome at this event too, as there will even be a Star Wars themed dog costume contest before the Roquefort-themed food truck competition kicks off.

The Vera Project Hosts Elysian’s Search Party This Summer

We’re fortunate in the Seattle area to have such a plethora of craft beer festivals to attend, pretty much year-round.  In addition to being a great way to enjoy and share our love of craft beer, many of these festivals also serve to benefit various non-profit organizations and other worthy causes.  Well, get ready for one more festival in town as Elysian Brewing Company prepares to host the first ever Search Party this July at the Seattle Center.

This one-day festival will be a celebration of beer, food, music and the arts, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting The Vera Project.  With music and the arts no longer part of the core curriculum at many schools, it’s more important than ever to find other ways to cultivate a love of music and the arts in young people and to provide the necessary skills to pursue careers in those fields. That’s what The Vera Project does.  According to their Mission Statement: “The Vera Project fuels personal and community transformation through collaborative, youth-driven engagement in music and art.

Top Rung Brewing Prepares For Their Third Anniversary

What do you do when you’re a firefighter with a passion for craft beer and you’re looking for a hobby to keep you busy in your down-time?  You start homebrewing, of course.  At least that’s how things got started for Top Rung Brewing Company founders, Jason Stoltz and Casey Sobol.

First opened in April of 2014, Jason and Casey launched Top Rung to fill a need they saw for more craft beer choices in the Olympia area.  Now, they’re preparing for their third anniversary celebration.

Sumerian Brewing Prepares For Their 2nd Anniversary And Starts Canning

Sumerian Brewing Company has a lot on their plate right now.  They continue to add new accounts, so you can now find their beers at 9 Costco locations, Xfinity Arena, 7-11, Haggen stores and Safeway stores, in addition to your local craft bottle shop.  They’ve also worked to get their beers onto Washington State ferries and will also be one of several local craft beer choices available at Safeco Field for the coming 2017 Seattle Mariners season (watch for a Mariners 2017 Season Food & Drink preview coming in early April).

In addition, Sumerian is preparing for their 2nd Anniversary celebration and have also started to release their first canned beers thanks to their new canning line.  The first of their beers up in cans will be Hopruption – formerly known as Eruption Double IPA.

Lagunitas Brewing Has Arrived In Seattle

20170110_170804

Last night, I was fortunate to attend a sneak peek preview party for media and industry friends at Lagunitas Brewing Company‘s newest location in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.  As you’ve probably heard, they took over the space formerly occupied by Hilliard’s Brewing, which was purchased last year by Odin Brewing.  Lagunitas treated us to food, live music, acrobatic and sideshow performers mingling among the crowd and, of course, great craft beer from one of my favorite California craft breweries.

Lagunitas has made some small but significant changes to the space, including a new, spacious island bar in the middle of the taproom, large, sturdy beer hall style tables with bench seating and brand new, restaurant-quality bathrooms.  They want to open to the public as soon as possible and, from what I saw last night, they’re just about ready.  You should be enjoying your favorite Lagunitas beers there before the end of this month.

Lowercase Brewing Prepares For Their 3rd Anniversary – UPDATED

Lowercase Brewing Company first opened their doors back in early 2014 in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood, sharing a building with another South Park newcomer, Burdick Brewing Company.  If you’ve been following their stories, however, then you know that both breweries had to close their taprooms last year due to prohibitively expensive building upgrades the city demanded to keep the taprooms open in that location.

Burdick simply closed their taproom and decided to go the production brewery route.  Lowercase Brewing, however, wanted to keep their taproom up and running so they started looking for a new location, which they found on Airport Way in Georgetown.  After a few delays with permits and such, Lowercase was finally able to open their new taproom last November.  The brewery itself stayed at their original location in South Park, allowing them to install an even lager brewing system and increase their capacity.  Incidentally, I have also heard rumblings that Burdick Brewing might be looking for a new taproom location as well.  I’ll keep you posted.

Belgian Fest 2017 Happens Next Month

BelgianFestLogo(New)1

Each year, the Washington Beer Commission puts on several different festivals to celebrate the diversity and excellence of Washington craft beer.  These festivals are a great way to discover new Washington breweries and to explore different craft styles that you may not be as familiar with.

It may still be a full month away, but tickets are already on sale for one of my favorite Washington Beer Commission hosted festivals: Belgian Fest 2017.  Set for 2 sessions on Saturday, January 28th, Belgian Fest 2017 will feature well over 100 different Belgian style beers from over 40 different Washington State breweries.  Featured beer styles include Tripels, Dubbels, Saisons, Wits, Abbeys and Lambics. In keeping with this unique style, all of the beers are brewed with Belgian yeast.

Overhang Bourbon Imperial Porter Returns From Two Beers Brewing

If you’re a fan of barrel aged stouts and porters then you know that Fall can be a trying time for your wallet.  Over the past couple of months, I’ve been to several different barrel aged beer releases and, by no means, was I alone at these releases.  Most had a line stretching down the street and around the corner with many people in line buying up to their allowed limit.

Well, I hope you haven’t depleted your holiday season craft beer spending limit yet, because Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) is pleased to announce the return of Overhang Bourbon Imperial Porter this Friday, December 16th at The Woods taproom.

bitteriscoming_carousel

Winter doesn’t officially start until December 21st, but with our continued rain and lower temperatures, it almost feels like it’s here already.  Chainline Brewing Company doesn’t mind though.  In fact they’re all set to welcome Winter early this year and are even throwing  a party to mark the occasion.

Coming up next Saturday, November 12th, Chainline Brewing is hosting their first annual Welcome To Winter party.  Themed: “Bitter Is Coming”, this event will feature a raffle, food trucks and seven new beers created just for this event.  That’s right; seven.
