Four IPA Releases Are Coming This Month From Hellbent Brewing

I know. I know. It’s still technically Winter and many of you are still in Barleywine and/or Imperial Stout mode, but I’m betting that hasn’t stopped you from enjoying some tasty IPAs too. After all, anytime is a good time for a tasty IPA.

Apparently Hellbent Brewing Company agrees. They’re set to release four different IPAs this month, and will be hosting their annual Poké & Pints For Public Lands event with the fourth release just after Spring arrives on March 20th. One of the IPAs is experimental. One is a POG. One is hop-forward and tropical, and the last is a PTG (Passionfruit, Tangerine, Guava) and will make wanna you hang loose. Say hello to Test Flight, Pau Hana, Expansion Pack and \m/ Shaka.

Here is some more information about these releases from Hellbent Brewing Company:

Hellbent‘s new experimental hop IPA, “Test Flight Experimental IPA” is a blend of four experimental hop varieties.  Experimental hops are hops that are able to be commercially grown (good yields, disease resistance, harvest availability) and now are in the market to see how they are received both by the brewer and the consumers. The hops we have chosen are all hops that are well suited for west coast or hazy IPA’s.  Their attributes are citrus (tangerine/grapefruit), tropical (pineapple/mango,papaya), fruity (stone fruits/candy-like) and pine (dank/ pine needles).

Featured hops:
Hopsteiner experimental #10416
Hopsteiner experimental #06277
HBC 586
HBC 692

Malt: pale, Vienna, white wheat, flaked corn, rolled oats

ABV: 7%
IBU: 50-55

Pau Hana Coconut POG

March 11, 2020  12:00pm

Hellbent Brewing Company
13035 Lake City Way NE
Seattle WA 98125

We dedicate this beer to all you hop heads looking to unwind after a hard day. In Hawaiian, “pau hana” (pronounced “pow hawna”) translates as “work is finished,” meaning, in this context, “let’s kick off the tropical hop party!” This version of Pau Hana Tropical IPA has an IPA as its base, and it’s infused with a POG blend (passionfruit, orange, guava) plus coconut to create a tiny tropical paradise in every glass. Layers of citrus hop flavors and aromas intertwine with the seductive flavors of passionfruit, orange and guava. Extensively dry hopped, this beer has an intense fruity hop character and mild malt flavor. While we’re teaching you about the culture, passionfruit in Hawaiian is Liliko’i (“lee-lee-co-e”). This Small Tank Series beer won’t be available for long.

\m/ (Shaka)

March 21, 2020  12:00pm

Hellbent Brewing Company
13035 Lake City Way NE
Seattle WA 98125

According to Urban Dictionary, the shaka (pronounced /ˈSHäkə/) is a Hawaiian hand gesture with many meanings. Originally it means to “hang loose”, or to chill and be laid back. If somebody did something good, cool, or righteous, you can give them a shaka as a sign of approval or praise. This tropical IPA is just that – good, cool, and righteous. With a semi-hazy tropical hop IPA as its base we add Hawaiian POG (passionfruit, orange, guava) to give tropical island flavors in every sip. Great whether surfing waves or surfing the couch, as pau hana, or any time you want to taste a tropical hop party! 🤙🍺🥘🌲💧

Hops:
Mosaic
Eukanot
Simcoe
Sabro

Malt: two-row, wheat, flaked corn, rolled oats

Adjunct: POG

ABV: ~7%
IBU: 40+

Mark your calendar now for all of these special releases and be sure to make it to the Poké & Pints For Public Lands event on the 21st. What better way to welcome Spring than by drinking some hoppy, tropical IPAs?

Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
