The story of Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) is one I’ve been following for a long time. I can still remember when the taproom had just a few stools and couldn’t hold more than a few people. Today, Two Beers Brewing Company – along with their sister companies, Seattle Cider Company and Sound Seltzer Company – boasts a huge, inviting taproom with 24 taps of beer, cider and seltzer (plus a cider slushie machine), pub games (billiards, foosball, darts, shuffleboard, etc.), a beautiful patio and a food service window run by the folks from Bread And Circuses.
There was some concern in the local craft beer community when, back in 2016, Two Beers Brewing Company and Seattle Cider Company were acquired by the Agrial Group, a leading French agri-business cooperative. Since that acquisition, however, I haven’t noticed any drop in the quality of their products, and they’ve even started expanding their portfolio – releasing lots of new beers this year including what I think may have been their best IPA yet, What A Time To Be Alive hazy fresh hop IPA. Now Two Beers is prepared to celebrate their 11th Anniversary with another new release: This Goes to 11 Birthday Cake IPA.
Here is the full press release from Two Beers Brewing Company:
SEATTLE (November 6, 2018) – On Saturday, November 10, Two Beers Brewing invites craft beer lovers to go one higher than ten. Celebrating their anniversary from 1-7pm at The Woods Cider House and Brewery Tasting Room in SoDo the team at Two Beers Brewing has dug into the cellar and opened the barrels, brewed some retired fan favorites, infused some classics, and experimented with some new recipes for a tap lineup that’s both a trip down memory lane and a rare peek into the future.
“I’m really proud to say that Two Beers Brewing spent 2018 innovating and releasing new and exciting beer,” said Joel VandenBrink, founder and CEO of Two Beers Brewing Co. “We’re really pushing ourselves with these limited releases (in this case to 11), but most importantly we’re having fun while producing incredible beers.”
The 11th Anniversary Party will feature 18 rotating beer taps ranging from classic cellared favorites to exciting infusions, and of course the highlight of the day will be the release of “This Goes to 11.” A 6.6% ABV, 21 IBU limited release IPA brewed with lactose sugar and vanilla bean, “This Goes to 11” will be available on draft and in 16oz 4 packs to go in limited quantity – only 75 cases of package product produced. We’re pairing this “birthday cake IPA” with actual birthday cake during our Anniversary Party festivities with a special toast at 3PM.

Come by The Woods this coming Saturday the 10th to help Two Beers celebrate. As noted above, they’ll have 18 rotating taps featuring some old favorites as well as some of their newer offerings. I’m curious to try the This Goes to 11 Birthday Cake IPA. I’m not sure I’ve ever had an IPA with vanilla bean. Unfortunately, I’m working on the 10th, so I won’t get to the party until later. Don’t drink it all before I arrive!
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
