Have you been out there enjoying all of those wonderful, harvest season, Fresh Hop beers? I know I have and I’m loving it. Now, however, with the things getting a bit chillier outside, my palate is ready to welcome back all those wonderful, malty dark beers.
Black Raven Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) is ready to oblige. They’ve announced that their popular, award winning Grandfather Raven Imperial Stout is set to make it’s annual return this coming Friday, October 19th.
Here is some more information about this release from Black Raven Brewing Company:
Grandfather Raven Imperial Stout
Release date: Friday, October 19th
In the creator role, and in the Raven’s role as the totem and ancestor, the Raven is often addressed as Grandfather Raven. With this stately sense of pomp and tradition we bring you our Imperial Stout. This robust black ale is full with rich dark caramel, unsweetened chocolate, and hints of coffee aromas and flavors. Stately indeed, but at 9.5% ABV, perhaps it is just a vain attempt to encourage the trickster spirit to act respectably.
ABV: 9.5%
On draft and 22oz bottles available to go $8.99 + tax
Bourbon barrel? Nope. Additions of vanilla, cocoa, hazelnut, cinnamon, etc. etc.? Nope. This is not a ‘pastry Stout’. If you’re a fan of traditional non-adjunct Imperial Stouts, then Black Raven’s Grandfather Raven should be right up your alley. As noted above, after the release this Friday, you’ll find Grandfather Raven available on draft and in 22 oz bottles at Black Raven Brewing and at craft beer shops around the Sound.
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
