Corvus Frambicus Returns From Black Raven

Seattle Beer Week #10 is right around the corner (watch for an article from me soon on my top event picks for SBW10), and one of my favorite SBW events each year is Sour Fest at Brouwer’s Cafe. I love a good sour Ale. Years ago, I approached them with caution, not knowing what to expect, and I fell in love.

If you haven’t gotten into sour Ales yet, then Black Raven Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) is bringing back one that you might want to check out.  Arriving today, 4/27, at The Raven’s Nest (Black Raven’s taproom in Redmond) is their popular Corvus Frambicus American Sour Ale with Raspberries.

Here is some more information about this release from Black Raven Brewing Company:

CORVUS FRAMBICUS

AMERICAN SOUR WITH RASPBERRIES
Here it is folks, our raspberry sour with all the soul we could squeeze into it. This pours bright and red with strong raspberry and mature soured notes on the nose. It drinks crisp and dry with a slight ‘raspberry hard candy’ note on the front. This soon gives way to a huge acid content which pushes the edge of comfort on the back of the palate. The finish is surprisingly clean and lingering. This beer was many years in the making, a true American sour.
Bottle Conditioned, corked and caged
Draft and 500ml bottles to go ($16.99 + tax)
Limit of 4
ABV: 5.7%

If you just can’t wait, Black Raven opens today at noon. So head out to Redmond, have some Corvus Frambicus on tap and pick up a few bottles to go (limit of 4, as noted above). If you can’t make it to Redmond, this beer should also see some limited distribution. So keep your eyes peeled.

Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
