Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood has a high concentration of craft breweries , many within just a few block of each other. That makes it ideal for checking out several craft breweries in a short time. Have you explored all of the breweries in Ballard? Do you have any favorites? Would you like to help them win an award?
For the third year, four Ballard breweries are coming together for a friendly little competition known as the Ballard Beer Awards, and you get to help determine the winners. In order to cast your votes, you’ll have to visit Ray’s Cafe rather than the breweries themselves. The competition kicks off on April 16th and runs through May 11th. The four breweries involved in this year’s competition are: Stoup Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, Lucky Envelope Brewing and Maritime Pacific Brewing.
Here is a bit more information about the Ballard Beer Awards from Ray’s and the participating breweries:
The third annual Ballard Beer Awards returns to Ray’s Café from Monday, April 16 to Friday, May 11! This friendly neighborhood competition will feature one beer on tap from each of the following Ballard breweries throughout the four-week contest: Stoup Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, Lucky Envelope Brewing and Maritime Pacific Brewing. Each purchase of one of these beers (any size on Ray’s Café menu) counts as one vote for that brewery.
On Monday, May 14 Ray’s will announce the winner who will receive a dedicated tap in the Café for one year!
Each Wednesday throughout the duration of the contest a different brewery will host a happy hour from 4-6 p.m. in the Café where guests can chat with the brewers and learn more about their favorite Ballard beers. Here’s the lineup:
Wednesday, April 18 – Reuben’s Brews
Wednesday, April 25 – Stoup Brewing
Wednesday, May 2 – Maritime Pacific Brewing
Wednesday, May 9 – Lucky Envelope Brewing
You can cast your votes starting on Monday, April 16th. Then, you’ll have to keep on visiting Ray’s to cast more votes. Be sure to come out for your favorites’ happy hour from the dates listed above. Good luck to the breweries.
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
