As I mentioned in a few articles earlier this week (the return of Ground Control from Ninkasi and today’s release of Overhang from Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor)), barrel-aged season is back. I just loves all those thick, dark, woody, bourbony releases that start flowing this time of year, and now Pike Brewing Company is getting in on the act.
Arriving tomorrow, Friday, November 3rd (which also happens to be International Stout Day), Pike will be releasing their 2017 Pike Entire Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Aged for four months on Woodinville Whiskey bourbon barrels, Pike Entire is rich with chocolate and espresso flavors and clocks in at 9.9%
Here is the full press release from Pike Brewing Company:
Entire 2017, Pike Brewing Company’s bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, will release on International Stout Day (Friday, November 3). Entire is an imperial stout aged for four months in local Woodinville Whiskey bourbon barrels. After aging it is blended with Pike XXXXX Stout to enhance the beer’s dark chocolate and espresso flavors, which are rounded out by the bourbon barrels’ vanilla and oak notes.
To celebrate the release of Pike Entire 2017 we’ve gone into Pike Brewing’s cellar for bottles of perfectly aged 2015 and 2016 vintages of Entire. Bottles of all three vintages will be available at the brewery only on Friday, November 3 from 11 AM to 7 PM. People who purchase 2 bottles of Entire will receive a Pike Brewing tulip glass, those purchasing 3 or more bottles will receive 2 tulip glasses.
To showcase Pike Brewing Company’s love of the deep, dark brews even more, we’ll be offering a special flight of Entire 2017 and 2015 alongside Pike XXXXX Stout and fall seasonal, Pike Organic Double Oatmeal Stout. These beers will be available both at The Pike Pub and Tankard & Tun.

About Pike Brewing Company:
The Pike Brewing Company is an independent and family owned craft brewery located in the historic Pike Place Public Market neighborhood. It was founded in 1989 by craft beer pioneers, Charles and Rose Ann Finkel. Pike Brewing handcrafts beers of character including the Pike Place Ale, Pike IPA, Naughty Nellie, Hive Five, Space Needle IPA, Kilt Lifter, Monk’s Uncle, and XXXXX Stout along with seasonal and limited release offerings. Visitors to the brewery can dine at The Pike Pub and Tankard & Tun, visit the world-famous Micro-Brewery Museum, illustrating 9,000 years of beer history, and tour the brewery.
With three different Entire vintages on tap and a free tulip glass for anyone purchasing at least 2 bottles (or 2 glasses for a 3 bottle purchase), this sounds like a great release to attend. If you can find the time, I suggest you get down to Pike Brewing tomorrow for the release of 2017 Pike Entire, starting at 11 am.
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
