It seems like only yesterday I was telling you about the launch of Seattle Cider Company, sister company to Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) and the first cidery in Seattle since prohibition.  In reality, that was almost three years ago.  Since then, Seattle Cider has come out with several new ciders, ramped up production multiple times and increased distribution to over 12 states (including Washington), with more states being added all the time.

Now, nearly three years later and bigger than they ever thought they’d be at this point, Seattle Cider Company is preparing to celebrate their 3rd Anniversary next Saturday, August 27th at The Woods taproom.

SEATTLE (August 15, 2016) – Wrapping up what will be its biggest year yet, Seattle Cider Company is excited to celebrate its third anniversary on Saturday, August 27 at its Seattle tasting room. Now available in 12 states, the rapidly expanding cidery has seen growth of 71 percent over last year, with no signs of slowing down. New states, an expanded facility and the introduction of a seasonal to the growing cidery’s iconic can lineup have catapulted Seattle Cider Company through its third year. To celebrate, Seattle Cider Company invites cider lovers to celebrate with them on August 27 as they dig into their cellar for a tap lineup unlike any other.

“This has been one wild ride,” said Joel VandenBrink, founder of Seattle Cider Company. “We had no idea what we were starting when we launched three years ago. Seeing the movement that is dry craft cider take off and thrive – as well as the opportunity to be such a big part of it – has been a dream come true. ”

Seattle Cider Company launched in August 2013 as Seattle’s first cidery since Prohibition. Producing 200,000 gallons in its first year of business, Seattle Cider Company’s volume jumped to 378,000 gallons in 2015, just a year and a half after opening. This year, the growing cidery is projecting sales of nearly 650,000 gallons (21,000 barrels). With big plans for five additional states in the next year, Seattle Cider Company is also in the midst of planning yet another capitol expansion, bringing their capacity to more than 1 million gallons by the spring of 2017.

Join the team from Seattle Cider Company on Saturday, August 27 at The Woods tasting room from 1-7pm as they celebrate an exciting year and start looking forward to the next. A very special tap lineup for the day includes more than 18 ciders, offering everything from year round favorites and seasonals to barrel aged ciders and special releases (find the full list at seattlecidercompany.com). The first 300 people through the door will receive a free Seattle Cider Company poster. Giveaways and games will be complemented by food available for purchase from Bread & Circuses, located within the tasting room.

Focusing on uniquely dry, craft ciders made with real ingredients, Seattle Cider Company’s products have successfully bridged the gap between beer and wine, offering up delicious staples and adventurous seasonals. Seattle Cider Company Harvest Series Ciders

It’s truly amazing how quickly Seattle Cider Company grew.  They had to alter their plans and expand much sooner than they’d originally anticipated and, as noted above, they’re preparing to expand yet again to a capacity of over 1 Million barrels annually to keep up with demand and increased distribution.  Seattle Cider has also been host to the Pacific Northwest Cider Awards, which returned to The Woods just this past June.

Mark your calendar now and plan on coming out next Saturday the 27th to help Seattle Cider celebrate this latest milestone.  There will be plenty of great ciders to choose from and food from The Woods’ in-house kitchen partner: Bread And Circuses.

Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
