Last October I told you about Beardslee Public House, the new restaurant and brewery from the John Howie Restaurant Group. Since their opening, they have earned rave reviews for their beers thanks in no small part to Head Brewer Drew Cluley and assistant brewer (and Certified Cicerone), Paige Zahnle.
Beardslee opened their doors with an impressive 12 beers on tap right from the get go and now, less than a year old, they’re announcing even more new beers going on tap as well as their first ever bottled beers.
Here are some more details about the new beers going on tap at Beardslee Public House:
- Grapple Belgian Tripel ~ A modern twist on a classic beer style, this tripel experiments with the subtle use of equinox and saphir hops. The nose is fruity with Belgian yeast aroma. On the palate are flavors of ripe cantaloupe and blood orange. Golden hued with brilliant clarity, mild malt character and low hop bitterness this sweet nectar conceals its 9.0% alc./vol. IBU 19.
- Timber Beast Triple IPA ~ A beast of an Imperial IPA with lingering bitterness and abundant hop aroma that takes your palate over the edge of hop sensibility, yet throws you a lifeline and brings you back for a much desired next sip. Featuring Equinox Hops. Over 90 IBU’s and 10.6% alc./ vol. Releases on draft 2/5. Bottles on 2/29
- Cask Sidewinder Chocolate Stout ~ Special Valentine’s weekend release: Beardslee will release 2 kegs of its Sidewinder Stout that has been infused with over a pound of French Valrhona coco nibs. Available 2/12 thru Valentines night. Pints only, no growlers.
- Old Growth Barley Wine ~ An American style barley wine, this luscious sipper melts in your mouth. Fruit forward with hints of toffee and water cracker, this complex ale is the perfect accompaniment to a cheese platter or dessert. 75 IBU’s and 9.4% alc./vol. Releases on 2/29 on both draft and in bottles.
In addition to these new on tap beers, Beardslee is also set to release their first ever bottled beers on Monday, February 29th. The first of those two beers is listed above: Old Growth Barley Wine. The second is Timber Beast Triple IPA, which will also be part of the Washington Hop Mob Triple IPA Roadshow I told you about earlier this week.
These are extremely limited bottle releases, with only 20 cases of 22 oz bottles available of each beer. That means a strict limit of just 2 bottles per beer, per person, per day. So, if you’re interested in getting your hands on these beers, you’ll want to get out to Beardslee on the 29th.
Last but not least, Beardslee has also announced that, for one night only – Valentine’s Day, they will be featuring live music from Shelley and the Curves, Western Washington’s favorite party band. Tickets are limited, so reserve your spot, dust off your dancing shoes then warm up your vocal chords so you’re ready to move, groove and sing along to your favorite songs.
