The hits just keep coming from Black Raven Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor). Last month they gave us Corvus Frambicus (a delicious raspberry sour that was only available on tap), and Grandfather Raven Imperial Stout, which I picked up a couple of bottles of for my cellar.
Also, just this past Tuesday the 15th, they brought back one of their more unusual releases, which is one of my favorites from Black Raven: Kitty Kat Blues – a Pale Ale brewed with dried blueberries, vanilla beans and organic mountain grown catnip. Yes; catnip. I wasn’t able to make it out to Black Raven for this year’s release of Kitty Kat Blues, so I’m hoping they’ll still have some available tomorrow.
Now, with Christmas just around the corner, Black Raven brings us yet another great release. Returning tomorrow, December 19th, is Raven de Garde. This complex, Limited Edition Belgian style Pale Ale with Brett. presents you with tart and slightly funky notes along with a bit of floral hoppiness on the nose and brings bready, toasty/roasty flavors with a slight bit of farmhouse funk from the brettanomyces yeast and a touch of bitterness in the finish from the hops.
Here is a bit more information about this beer from Black Raven Brewing Company:
