Gunpowder Plot Nitro Porter Is Back Tomorrow From Black Raven

The time has come once again to “Remember, remember the 5th of November, the gunpowder, treason and plot.  I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.”  Black Raven Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) can’t think of a reason either so, back once again for 2015, is their Gunpowder Plot Nitro Porter.  Releasing tomorrow, November 5th, of course, this coffee, cocoa and bourbon-infused ale comes in at 6.9%.

Here is a bit more information about this beer from Black Raven Brewing Company:

This annual release nitro porter celebrates the thwarting of an insidious plot attempted by Guy Fawkes & his band of anti-heroes on November 5th, 1605. Fawkes’ goal was to blow up the House of Lords with barrels of gunpowder. This year we plotted closely with Anchorhead Coffee Roasters, out of Duvall, to create a perfectly roasted coffee exclusively for this beer. We soaked a portion of those pristine beans in top shelf bourbon, and cellared the whole shebang on criminal amounts of Theo Chocolates cocoa nibs. In order to unify the flavors and give it that classic British feel we conditioned it on Nitrogen. So quench the conspiracy, light your fires and remember the 5th of November.

ABV: 6.9%

Gunpowder Plot arrives tomorrow, but Black Raven is also putting a special cask on this afternoon and it sounds delicious: “Our interpretation of the espresso drink ‘Dolce de Leche’, which is to say we conditioned Gunpowder Plot (Coffee & Chocolate) Porter with Caramelized Turbinado and vanilla beans.”  Now that sounds pretty darn tasty on a cold Fall day like today.  Unfortunately, I can’t make it out to Redmond tomorrow but, if you can, I urge you to do so.

Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
