Events Coming Up At The Noble Fir & The Sixgill

There always seems to be something happening at The Noble Fir and The Sixgill.  Both venues often put on events that bring in amazing beers and great food pairings.  In fact, just last month I told you about two great events: Sours at the Sixgill and Chicago Night at The Noble Fir.

Now, a few more events are coming up fast at these popular Seattle craft beer spots.  Do you like strong beers.  Do you like imported beers?  Do you like Foie Gras?  Do you like beers from The Bruery?  Do you like multi-course beer pairing dinners? If you answered yes to any of these questions then keep reading, because I’ve got information on a few events coming up later this week (and next month) that you might want to check out.

Up first, set for tomorrow, December 17th, The Noble Fir will feature a lineup of beers from importer Twelve Percent Imports; importers of brands like: Evil Twin, Tilquin, Emelisse and more.  Don’t let their name fool you though, not ever beer on the list will be quite as strong as their name implies, but there are indeed a few beers that come close to 12% or even a little above.

  • MOLOTOV COCKTAIL – TRIPLE IPA/ IMPERIAL IPA 13.1%
    HOP FLAVOR FROM BEGINNING TO END WITH PINEY, CITRUS AND FLORAL AROMATICS. ALL BALANCED WITH A MALTY SWEET, HONEY LIKE BACKGROUND.
  • IMPERIAL DOUGHNUT BREAK – IMPERIAL PORTER W/ GLAZED DOUGHNUTS 11.5%
    TAKE AN AMAZING IMPERIAL PORTER WITH THE TASTE OF BITTER SWEET ALMONDS AND COFFEE AND TOP IT OFF WITH AN INSANE AMOUNT OF GLAZED DOUGHNUTS.
  • MOSAIC IMPERIAL INDIA PALE AMERICAN WHEAT LAGER 8%
    IT’S A… WELL… LITTLE HARD TO DESCRIBE.
  • RYAN AND THE GOSLING – AMERICAN PALE W/ CITRUS 4%
    100% BRETTANOMYCES WITH HONEY AND CITRUS PEEL
  • FEMME FATALE NOIR – ALL BRETT DARK IPA 6%
    100% TRUE BRETT BLACK IPA. TANGY, FUNKY, TART FLAVOR
  • NIGHT VISION – BRETT PALE 6.9%
    HOPPY BELGIAN STYLE PALE ALE WITH WILD YEAST
  • SAISON DARKLY – DARK SAISON W/ BERRIES 8%
    THIS BLACK SAISON CARRIES QUALITIES SIMILAR TO A STOUT WITH LIGHT ROAST AND BURNT SUGAR FLAVORS, SPICED WITH ROSE HIPS, HIBISCUS, & SCHISANDRA BERRIES.
  • WHY CAN’T IBU – IPA+SAISON 5.7%
    HOPS, YEAST & FUN.
  • MAZARIN – OATMEAL PALE ALE 5.6%
    PERFECT FOR CALMING A HOP YEARNING NERVE WITHOUT FUDDLING THE BRAIN TOO MUCH. IN OTHER WORDS, A LAVISHLY HOPPED ALE OF JUDICIOUS ABV — AN EXTRA SPECIAL PALE ALE IF YOU WILL.
  • TROUBLESOME – GOSE 4.5%
    A BLEND OF A SOMEWHAT UNINTERESTING WHEAT BEER AND AN OVERLY ACIDIC & FUNKY BEER FERMENTED SOLELY WITH LACTOBACILLUS. CORIANDER AND SALT ADDED AT THE TAIL END OF FERMENTATION TO CREATE A MILD, LEMONY TARTNESS AND A FULLER SENSATION OF MOUTHFEEL.
  • BLACK AND TAN AGED IN WILD TURKEY 11%
    A BLEND OF RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT AND TRIPLE IPA, AGED IN WILD TURKEY BARRELS.
  • TILDONK SPECIAL 2014 8%
    A BLEND OF BARREL AGED BEERS FROM THE BARREL AGED PROJECT

If imports aren’t your thing, then perhaps you’ll want to check out this next event instead.  Have you ever had foie gras?  The rich, buttery flavor of this sometimes controversial delicacy is a gastronomic experience I highly recommend, assuming you have no qualms with foie gras or it’s production as California seems to.  Personally I think it’s delicious but, of course, I don’t get it very often.  So this is one event I might just have to check out for myself.

On Saturday, December 20th The Sixgill will be pairing up some special beers from The Bruery with foie gras and a few other special dishes.
