Stogies n Hops Set To Rock Lynnwood

When you go to a convenience store, what do you expect to find?  Chips, sodas, bottled water, cigarettes, beef jerky, candy bars, a few lotto tickets, etc., right?  Y’know, the usual stuff.  Well, what if there was a convenience store where you could not only get all of those things but also grab some lunch, throw back a few pints and perhaps even pick up a few bottles of your favorite craft beer and a fine cigar or two to take home?  Now there is.

The ‘convenience store with more’ concept first arrived in Seattle back in 2009 with Super Deli Mart in West Seattle.  That was long before we got Chuck’s Hop Shop, Norm’s Market or any other convenience stores that offered a wide selection of craft beers on tap and to go.  Brainchild of Seattle businessman, Min Chung, the ‘craft convenience store’ model has been pretty successful thus far.  Now, Min is at it again.  This time he’s setup shop in the Martha Lake neighborhood of Lynnwood at a new place called Stogies n Hops.  He thought about calling it Hops n Stogies (since, of course, craft beer is the primary focus), but Stogies n Hops just rolls off the tongue better.

(Godfather of Growlers at it again with Stogies n Hops)

LYNNWOOD, WA (June 13, 2014) – Stogies n Hops is excited to announce that all Washington State licensing requirements have been met, and beer should start flowing from their taps within the next week.

Min Chung, the man who forever changed the Washington craft beer scene, is at it again. He is set to open a new premiere destination spot in Lynnwood, just across from Martha Lake. Min revolutionized the Seattle craft beer scene back in 2009 by blowing away everyone’s expectations of what a convenience store could be with Super Deli Mart in West Seattle.

I have a real love for craft beer and fine cigars,” says owner Min Chung. “I wanted to share that love with everyone, and provide a welcoming neighborhood place to discover the joys of sharing a few beers or enjoying a cigar with good friends.

With 20 taps (2 nitro), bottle service, wine by the glass, over 1000+ different bottled/canned beers and 200+ fine cigars (and growing), Stogies n Hops is a great place to experiment, expand your horizons, or just relax with an old favorite.

At Stogies n Hops, you’ll find:

  • All your regular convenience store needs (cigarettes, sodas, chips, Lotto, etc.)
  • A large, walk-in humidor for your cigar shopping pleasure
  • $3 Pints and $7 Growler fills during happy hour
  • Beer tasting events
  • Brewer’s nights/Meet the brewer events
  • Cigar events
  • A wide selection of glass pieces and other smoking accessories
  • And much more

If everything goes as planned, the taps at Stogies n Hops should start flowing next Monday or Tuesday, June 16th or 17th. Hours of operation are 9 AM to 10 PM Sunday thru Thursday, and 9 AM to 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Stogies n Hops has already been open for a few weeks but they’re still busy setting everything up.  Now, with all the necessary licensing complete, the taps will start pouring any day.  Soon they’ll also start offering sandwiches and other snacks.  For now, if you get hungry while you’re there, you can pick up something to eat from Aca las Tortas, which shares part of the building with Stogies n Hops.  Long term plans are also in the works to add a patio out back (unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen in time for this Summer).  To see a few more photos from Stogies n Hops, click HERE.

Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
