Do you enjoy beers from Black Raven Brewing Company? I know I sure do. Black Raven makes some truly delicious beers that rate high on my list, including: Wisdom Seeker Double IPA, Trickster IPA, La Petite Mort, Grandfather Raven Imperial Stout, Old Birdbrain Barleywine; the list goes on and on. I don’t get over to Redmond to visit Black Raven nearly as often as I’d like but, if you do, you might want to consider joining Ravenmasters – the Black Raven Brewing Company mug club.
Mug club memberships are both a great way to show your loyalty to a particular brewery, as well as providing you with a wealth of benefits that save you money in the long run, and give you exclusive and/or early access to special offerings before the general public. I’m a member of the Two Beers Brewing Company (CBM Sponsor) mug club myself, since Two Beers is close to home for me, I visit there fairly often and the beers are delicious.
The benefits of joining the Ravenmasters mug club include:
- Exclusive Ravenmaster 2014 T-Shirt
- Limited edition Ravenmaster 2014 specialty 2 liter logo growler
- $1.00 off all pints in the taproom
- $0.50 off all schooners in taproom
- $1.00 off all growler fills
- Annual Ravenmaster’s private party at brewery
- No deposit required for kegs to go
- No credit card needed to hold open tabs in taproom
- Bottle release preview/early sales
Certain Black Raven Beers, such as Wisdom Seeker, La Petite Mort, Old Birdbrain and a few others, tend to go quickly when they’re released each year. So the bottle release preview/early sales benefit alone might make Ravenmasters membership worth it for some of you.
There are a total of 150 available spots for the Ravenmasters, and existing members have the opportunity to renew their membership before any available spots are offered to the public. Existing members have until Saturday, April 26th to renew their current Ravenmasters membership. Any memberships that are not renewed by then become available for new members at noon on Sunday, April 27th (limit one membership per person). The cost for membership is $100.
If you’re thinking of heading down on Sunday, April 27th to join Ravenmasters, please read this warning from Black Raven Brewing:
WARNING – PLEASE READ THIS!
Based on previous years, there are usually only about 10-20 open memberships up for grabs. We will not know that actual number until Saturday night at 10PM.
The line usually starts forming at 7AM on renewal day (4/27). Last year we also had folks camp overnight. We will inform the line Sunday AM on how many slots are available. There is no waiting list. It is truly first come, first serve on enrollment day.
You read that right. Some people are so eager to join the Ravenmasters they will, literally, camp out overnight on the 26th to ensure they are at the start of the line on Sunday. Are you birdbrained enough to join them? Whether you camp out or just take your chances showing up shortly before noon on Sunday, you’ll at least have the opportunity to drink some delicious Black Raven beers, whether your wind up joining the Ravenmasters or not. That’s a good day in my book.
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
