Are you ready to help one of Seattle’s newest brewery startups hit the ground running? Bad Jimmy’s Brewing Company, in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, has launched their Kickstarter campaign and they need your help to reach their goal of raising $13K by Wednesday, July 10th, 2013. Your donation of as little as $3 will put you among an elite group who are excited to see Bad Jimmy’s succeed. They are also offering incentives to their backers. The more you donate, the greater your reward. Click HERE to see the full list of incentives and rewards including: Keychains, Bottle Openers, T-Shirts, Posters, Private Parties, Tank Naming Rights and more. I’ve been keeping you up to date with what’s going on at Bad Jimmy’s since February and, now that all their licenes are in place and things are ramping up, it looks like July will be the ‘magic’ month they’ve been waiting for to finally open their doors.
According to Bad Jimmy’s Brewing Company:
The 5 owners of Bad Jimmy’s have been working in the restaurant industry for over 50 years combined. We know late nights, busy nights, and long slow ones that leave too much time for daydreaming. Used to these consistently late nights, we are committed to being open 7 days a week starting the day we open.
Bad Jimmy’s Tasting Room Hours:
Sunday – Thursday: Noon to Midnight
Friday – Saturday: Noon to 2am
Many of the original brews from Bad Jimmy’s have won several awards, including some Gold medals when entered in regional and national homebrew competitions. However, they have turned down the awards that come with these wins in order to keep their recipes a closely guarded secret. For those who aren’t aware, many homeberew competitions require that you hand over your recipes in order to accept the awards when you win. Also, it is not possible to copyright a recipe, which is why so many companies (Coca Cola, Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc.) keep their recipes guarded so well.
Bad Jimmy’s Brewing Company is planning to offer the following beers when they launch:
7.8% ABV 67 IBU’s 1.079 OG
6.2% ABV 81 IBU’s 1.063 OG
5.7% ABV 39 IBU’s 1.059 OG
5.4% ABV 23 IBU’s 1.057 OG
Strawberry Mango Hefeweizen:
6.8% ABV 16 IBU’s 1.066 OG
6.4% ABV 55 IBU’s 1.066 OG
6.9% ABV 39 IBU’s 10.71 OG
A rather impressive and eclectic lineup, if I may say so. Habañero Amber? Strawberry Mango Hef? To be honest, I don’t usually go for such beers myself, but I’m eager to give these two a try. They may not follow the Reinheitsgebot (the German beer purity law, which states that beer is to be made only from malt, hops water and yeast), but then again, they are called “Bad” Jimmy’s.
Intrigued? Then I urge you to visit Bad Jimmy’s Kickstarter page today and make your pledge. And be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter, so you’re always up to date. Don’t delay! The Kickstarter campaign ends on July 10th.
From Bad Jimmy’s Brewing:
We’re in the last week of our project and we’re so close! Thank you all for your support and motivation you’re amazing! In the last couple of weeks made some major strides and just have a few more hurdles to cross before we start making beer. Our massive walk-in cooler will be done and cold in the next few days. We are finishing up building table tops and benches so you’ll have somewhere to sit and enjoy our beer. Our glycol system is on it’s way (that’s what keeps the beer cold in the tanks). Plumbing out our system has commenced. All of our glassware and growlers are on there way. As well as countless other things that aren’t as fun so I won’t bore you with them.
Anyway, we are in the last week and are only $2,500 away from meeting our goal! Help us on our final push and share our Kickstarter page with as many people as you can! Our main goal with Kickstarter has always been to engage as many people as possible and show them who we are and what our company stands for. Kickstarter is a great medium for that and with your help we will not only attain our goal, but also engage the community and the craft beer world!
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
