2013 is here. The holidays are behind us, and Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. That means Love is in the air, but it also means that Pike Brewing Company‘s annual Chocofest is fast approaching.
Each year since 2009, Pike Brewing has hosted this wonderful event, which features dozens of chocolate, wine, spirits, cider and mead vendors pairing their libations with chocolatiers, restaurateurs, bakers, and cheese-makers, culminating in an evening of love-inspired gastronomic delights. Or, as Pike puts it: “a virtual orgy for food and drink lovers!” All proceeds from Chocofest 2013 will benefit the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance – which helps protect the waters of Puget Sound both now and for future generations.
Pike Brewing will close at 4:00PM on Sunday, February 10th to prepare, and then the doors will open for Chocofest 2013 at 5:00PM (until 8:00PM). The festival takes over all areas of the brewery, including the Museum bar, as well as every room in the pub and downstairs in the brewery itself. From Pike: “Pike Chocofest is a Valentine gift for everyone involved, including Puget Soundkeeper Alliance for helping to keep local waters pristine for another love potion featured at Pike Chocofest, oysters on the half shell.”
Tickets for Chocofest 2013 are $45 per person and can be purchased either in advance or at the door on the 10th. This event has become pretty popular and fills up quickly, however, so I (and Pike) suggest you contact Tara at Pike for reservations: 206-812-6604. This is such a fun event for any beer or chocolate lover, and a great way to have a little fun before Valentine’s day itself. So come on out an have a little, as Pike puts it, ‘foreplay before the big day’! I hope to see you there.
UPDATE (2/9/2013): Grab this PDF from Pike Brewing for a list of all brewers/distillers/vintners/restaurants/etc. that will be at this year’s Chocofest, and what delicious items they’ll each be featuring. I’ll see you there.
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
