This past Saturday, 11/3, I attended the 5th Anniversary party for Two Beers Brewing Company in their tasting room, The Woods, in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood. Despite a bit or rainy weather on and off, everyone seemed to have a great time enjoying some great beers.
The entire brewery was open to the public for the festivities, and it’s a good thing becuase there was quite a crowd on hand to help Two Beers celebrate. In fact, expecting the large crowd, Two Beers opened a second (cash only) bar back in the brewery itself. You could enjoy your beers in plastic pint glasses or purchase a 5 year commemorative tulip glass for $5 and then get $1 off each pint. Each attendee also received a free, limited edition, Two Beers Brewing bottle opener keychain. If you’re like me, you already have too many brewery glases at home, but I still couldn’t resist getting the tulip (see photo above). I drink at home mostly out of tulip glasses. If I had to pick just one style of beer glass to use forever, that would be it.
In addition to their regular beers, Two Beers was tapping some special kegs at different times throughout the day, some with different infusions. I stuck mostly with two of my favorites from Two Beers, their Evolutionary IPA and their Heart of Darkness CDA. Though I did also have a glass of their great 5th Anniversary IPA, which was also available for purchase in 22oz bottles.
Food for the event was supplied by Where Ya At Matt‘s Cajun food truck. My Two Beers Heart of Darkness CDA paired quite well with my delicious catfish po boy and the few bites I stole of my wife’s red beans and rice and cornbread. I’ve always been a fan of Cajun food, and Matt’s does a great job of on-the-go Cajun.
If you weren’t able to make it out for the festivities, don’t worry. Two Beers Brewing should still have some 5th Anniversary Ale and commemorative galsses for sale. Drop on by to enjoy a pint, grab a bottle or two or fill a growler during their regular tasting room hours of 3-8 Tuesday thru. Friday and 1-6 on Saturdays (regular Saturday hours were extended for this 5th anniversary celebration). You can also click HERE to see a few more photos from the day. Congratulations to Two Beers Brewing Company on 5 great years!
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
