From their humble beginnings back in 2006, brewing only a half barrel at a time in a small space under the West Seattle bridge, partners Marcus Connery and Matt & Heather McClung have slowly grown Schooner Exact Brewing Company into a well known and well repsected name in the Seattle beer scene. Now it’s time for the next step.
After working for months on their latest expansion, Schooner Exact Brewing Company is ready to debut their improved taproom and restaurant. That’s right. Schooner Exact now has much more seating and a full food menu (full food service starts ‘officially’ on 11/10, but they are already serving food (see menu below). The larger space gives them quite a bit more seating than they had previously, as well as a view from the newly expanded seating area into the barrel aging room.
In addition to the larger space and the full menu, Schooner Exact is also expanding their hours as well as their staff. As of yesterday, November 4th, they are now open 7 days a week from 11AM to 9PM. Their old hours had them opening as late as 4:00PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays (closed Mondays & Tuesdays). The longer hours are a welcome additon, especially for anyone looking for a great place in the SoDo area to stop off and have a great craft beer and some food for lunch. Stop by, say hello to some of the new serving staff and have a salad, sanwich or some pasta. There’s even a few kid-friendly choices. (The new hours should be reflected on Schooner Exact’s website soon.)
Even with the new menu and expanded hours, well behaved dogs are still welcome on the outside patio at Schooner Exact but can no longer be allowed inside. When you get the chance, I highly reccommend checking out the newly expanded Schooner Exact Brewing Company. Their popular Hoppy Holidays holiday ale is on tap now and, coming in early December, will be their extremely popular Hoppy The Woodsman, created by Oak barrel aging Hoppy Holidays. It’s definitely one of my favorite local holiday ales.
Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
